A Fast Diet That Gives You Everything You Want…

You’re told to eliminate empty carbs to make your fast diet work, so it’s goodbye to flour and sugar. They won’t do your health or body shape…

But, we’re always taught that your body depends on carbs for it’s energy levels, so cut them out and where’s your energy going to come from?

Well, it really isn’t a problem…

There are some carbohydrates that are good for you and supply your body with the energy it needs. The ‘good carbs’ won’t play havoc with your figure and used properly, these good carbohydrates result in a fast reduction in weight and a better body shape. That’s what we all want, don’t we?

Is there a secret to the fast diet?

It isn’t really a secret… A successful fast diet revolves around the Glycemic Index (GI) of each food type. If you don’t know what the GI is, let me explain…

The fact is that foods’ carb levels vary enormously and knowing each foods’ GI level means you can choose the right foods to enable you to lose weight. You need to choose low GI foods as these have less impact on the blood glucose and insulin levels in your body. Choosing these ‘good carbs’ will encourage fast, regular weight loss and also have great benefits for your health.

There’s enormous amounts of information on the internet about GI levels. If you don’t want to have glucose (sugar) build up in your body and turn into fat, which is what happens when you eat high GI level foods, then the low GI choice is the way to go…

Here are some examples of GI levels in everyday foods…

Green beans — GI 15 Broad beans — GI 79

Dried Apricots – GI 31 Fresh Apricots – GI 57

Multi Grain Bread — GI 48 Baguette — GI 95

It always a surprise that the same types of food can have very different GI levels. Tthe idea is to aim for foods with a low GI index – but remember not to pig out even with those! A successful fast diet moderates the amount of food you eat. Don’t starve yourself, don’t be hungry but make sure you don’t pig out either!

Low carb diets ideally include low-glycemic index foods. Don’t cut out carbs as a whole – it’s important that you concentrate on eating mainly low GI foods. There are plenty to choose from and often low GI, healthy carbs are tastier and more satisfying to eat.
